Coordinated Training Services (CTS) Director (FullTime)
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university in areas of human services or business administration. Four years of professional training experience with at least one year in a supervisory, or coordinator role, preferably in the areas of substance abuse prevention. Experience may be substituted, for education. Knowledge of evidence based prevention programs and coalitions, training procedures and techniques, preferred provider networks and curriculum development. Demonstrated skills in instructing others, ability to assign and/or supervise the work of others; to plan for training and technical assistance services; and to assess training needs. Effective communication/negotiation, analysis, and a demonstrated ability to be organized and detail oriented is required. This position requires Certified Prevention Specialist Certification or attainment within one year of employment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Under the direction supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the CTS Program Director will be responsible for the following:

Manager of Statewide Prevention Training Program: (65%)
Directly responsible for the management of Statewide Prevention training for evidence based prevention programs and coalitions, and staff involved in the delivery and technical assistance of these services. Ensures that all trainings are conducted according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and WAP guidelines

Networking / Customer Relations: (25%)
Provides training collaboration and networking to organizations in substance abuse prevention field. Work directly with Prevention Resource Centers (PRC)’s, Education Resource Centers (ESCs), networks at conferences and exhibits, and acts as a point of contact to DSHS representatives.

Activity Leader: (10%)
Leads Activity Team. Perform duties as Activity Leader for home team personnel and project teams. Responsible for team long and short term team/department planning; facilitate inter-and interdepartmental communication.

Substance Abuse / HIV Trainer (Full-Time)
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in the areas of Communication or Business or related area, plus one to two years professional experience in the field of Curriculum Delivery, Youth Peer Mentoring/Leadership training, substance abuse and/or prevention education. Experience should include training other professionals and/or youth, preferably in areas of substance abuse, prevention education, as well as team building. Position also requires effective presentation, written, and oral communication skills; ability to plan, organize, and deliver training and technical assistance services; ability to use independent judgment; ability to work as a team player; and a working knowledge of curriculum development. Candidate should possess knowledge of both substance abuse prevention and risk reduction strategies as associated with youths. This position requires extensive travel and a flexible schedule including a willingness to work weekends and evenings. Bilingual in Spanish is desired but not necessary. Must be able to communicate and work with employees across multiple departments and divisions within WAP.
