This is an optional benefit your employer may have in addition to all the EAP standard benefits. Everyone needs legal and financial assistance from time to time. It may be to consult an attorney about a will, a real estate transaction, a divorce or some other common legal action. It may be for advice to reorganize a retirement plan or investments. AWP offers a nationwide network of licensed lawyers, CPAs, financial consultants and certified dispute mediators that can provide these services.

Additionally, the AWP Law Access online library services include access to over 1200 legal forms and over 1000 legal articles and real audio files. An example of the types of legal and financial topics for which you may find in our members' library include:

Legal consultation services that covers all 50 states, Canada and Puerto Rico. The service includes free consultation by phone or in person for almost any legal issue including civil, consumer, personal/family law, business, real estate and IRS matters. These consultations are provided by licensed attorneys and legal representatives who are trained and specialize in your area of concern. The visit is free for the first thirty minutes. If the individual would like to move forward with the attorney (or another from the network of more than 20,000), up to a 25% discount from the standard fees will be applied.

Financial consultation with licensed CPAs and financial management advice from senior financial planners are also included for such issues as federal income tax preparation, and investment strategies. Again, after the first free session, these services are provided at a significant discount.
